about me
in my own words, I am…
Worth the wait in flavor.
Endless shedding, outgrowing, shell after shell.
Hider and seeker. Asking endlessly.
what makes truth
true?
If nothing else, I am a crockpot simmering in the corner…
…collections of seeds germinating…
…or perhaps I’m more of the scent after heavy rain… where does that come from?
Has it ever existed before?
What else is here…
A clamp holding things together till the glue dries
A riddle of endless longing
A cosmic game of connect the dots
A flashlight blinking “why” in Morse code
A lofty library you get lost in
Plenty of space, never enough time.

my story…

I am a movement artist, performer, and dance educator. My artistic journey began in my hometown of Columbus, Ohio singing and playing make-believe under my father’s ivory grand piano. My earliest creative expressions were steeped in movement, song, and storytelling that opened doors of deep connection to both my developing identity and to the creative expressions of those who raised me. My early years soon became a relentless pursuit of the magic I was privileged to experience within the performing arts - awakening a hunger I knew I would spend the rest of my life trying to satisfy.
This craving only grew throughout my adolescence, carrying me to Jackson, MS to receive a BFA in Dance from Belhaven University. During these studies, I was profoundly impacted by the opportunity to work in a week-long creative process with the late and great Nancy Stark Smith, learning and embodying the nuances of The Underscore - a long-form dance improvisation structure she developed in 1990.
In 2020, I moved to my current home base of Atlanta, GA to participate in the ImmerseATL Artist training program. My desire to learn from new creative processes and perspectives has continued to carry me to various corners of the world, including spending a summer in France working with Oriantheatre's Paris Summer Academy and my time with staibdance in Sorrento, Italy.
My passion for stimulating young creative minds recently flourished in performances within Fly On A Wall & Alliance Theatre for the Very Young's production of "The Curious Cardinal" and work with movement creator Dominic Moore-Dunson for his upcoming production of "The Remember Balloons"—a work that captures the imagination and touches the depths of human experience for audience members of all ages. My latest pursuits in Atlanta have included taking on the role of Assistant Director and Company Member with EXCAVATE BODY—a role that expands my artistic depth and supports the vision of this growing company.
As a creator, I’ve been dedicated to the development of solo choreographic work, "Love Letters to Doubt," which began with Fly on the Wall's Excuse the Art series in 2023 and has since toured at various regional conferences. The expansion of this work has been made possible through ImmerseATL Collective's time in Dance Lab at the High Museum of Art and a Creative Residency at the Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences.
As a dance educator, I am deeply committed to fostering the values of creativity, self-expression, healing, and innovation in my classroom. I am currently honored to be in my third year teaching among the incredible faculty at Neighborhood Ballet & Rise City Dance.
