…About Andie K. Media…
Hi there! I’m Andie - Atlanta-based dancer, arts administrator, educator, videographer, and entrepreneur of Andie K. Media. Here’s a bit of backstory on my media journey…
I first began experimenting with film in high school while recovering from a dance injury and searching for an alternative creative outlet. That spark grew in college thanks to a treasured mentor who helped me uncover a knack for visual storytelling and dynamic editing.
My earliest films came to life in a dorm room in Jackson, Mississippi alongside a best friend and an unreasonable amount of late-night pizza. These first projects were stitched together with borrowed gear, no budget, and the devotion of friends willing to dance in dusty abandoned houses, improvise under interstate bridges, and wake up at absurd hours just to catch the light just right…
That work became the portfolio that landed me my dream internship Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival, where I spent a summer learning from the generous and wildly talented Nel Shelby Productions. That experience changed everything for me, both artistically and professionally. I arrived with good instincts and a strong creative foundation, and left with the tools, technique, and resources to truly serve the dance world and beyond.
In 2020, I moved to Atlanta, bought my camera (Lumi), and got to work. I’ve had the honor of working with so many brilliant artists and organizations in ATL and beyond, and last year, I officially became an LLC—so I can keep doing what I love for the communities I love, sustainably.
I pride myself on doing a lot with a little. I work within a budget (not against it), because I believe art and nonprofit communities deserve access to professional videography too.
I love telling other people’s stories, capturing the pulse of a creative process, and watching it all come to life.
